While non-surgical treatment of Pectus Carinatum and Pectus Excavatum is new to the UK, treatment using a brace or orthosis is available elsewhere in the world. The London Orthotic Consultancy's treatment follows the methods of Dr Haje, who passed away in the summer of 2012.
He had successfully treated more than 1,900 patients from all over the world during the past 34 years, at his clinic in Brazil.
Dr Haje was widely regarded as the leading authority on the non-surgical treatment of pectus deformities. He wrote several peer-reviewed articles for leading orthopaedic journals and lectured at many orthopaedic conferences. In 2010, he was presented with The Scientific Impact award by the Brazilian Medical Association.

LOCpectus is the name we have given to the non-surgical treatment in the UK. In 2010, Dr Haje visited the UK to train LOC's clinicians in the Haje method and he returned in 2011 to review a number of LOC's first patients. LOC continues to confer with Professor Davi Haje, MD PhD who is carrying on with Dr Sydney Haje's ground-breaking work in this field.
