The Problem
Poor Posture
Poor posture is mainly a consequence of a lack of activity and undirected exercise.
Today we walk less. Advances in technology have changed our lifestyles completely. The car has replaced our natural locomotion and many professions require us to sit for long periods of time. As a result we use our muscles only a small amount or very unilaterally. Consequently our bodies are not being used for the purpose they were designed.
With body and pelvic symmetry all postural muscles work in harmony to help prevent pain and joint stiffness. Poor posture caused by long periods of inactivity or sitting can bring about incorrect loading and weakness of the body’s musculoskeletal system.
Over time incorrect alignment brings about detrimental changes in our posture. In an attempt to maintain postural symmetry our body compensates by over using groups of muscles while allowing others to become weak. This can result in permanent visible postural defects and classic pain symptoms such as:
- Back Pain
- Neck ache and stiffness
- Pelvic Malignment
- Muscle Tension
- Joint Pains
