LOC Assists Synostosis Study

07-March-2016

The London Orthotic Consultancy’s central London clinic is at 152 Harley Street which was co-founded by David Dunaway, a plastic surgeon with a special interest in Craniofacial reconstruction.

David's NHS practice is based at Great Ormond Street Hospital where he leads an internationally renowned craniofacial unit.

Mr. Dunaway and his team are currently undertaking a study on comparison of head shapes pre and post synostotic reconstruction surgery.  They are using the M4D Rodin scanner to scan babies immediately pre op, immediately post op and at regular intervals post surgically.

LOC has a lot of experience using these scanners in the diagnosis and treatment of Positional Plagiocephaly.

As Mr Dunaway’s team had not used this type of scanner for babies previously, Sally Hews who runs LOC’s Plagio clinic at Harley Street led a training session with them to give them some tips and advice on how to achieve a good scan.
