Thanks to Lucy Best, Hampsire Orthotics for our September scan of the month....
This little boy has a twin brother and they were born 5 weeks prematurely. Both babies lay breech in the womb and this little one was stuck under mum’s ribs. His parents noticed a lump on his neck at a few weeks old and he was diagnosed as having torticollis which resulted in him always lying on his left side despite constant repositioning, pillows, physiotherapy and chiropractic treatment.
His parents brought him to the Hampshire Orthotics clinic in Southampton when he was 3.6 months old for a free assessment and were given more advice on repositioning and stretching. A month later, after very little change they decided to try the LOCband treatment. His asymmetry measured a severe 22mm at the scan and with full time helmet use we were able to get it down to 8mm after just 3.7 months. We loved the images dad made of this cheeky chap in his helmet.
We wish all the family a great future!
