Our Ethos

LOC is committed to providing its clients with the highest possible level of care. All of our clinicians are fully qualified professionals and registered with the Health Professions Council (HPC) and are members of the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO). We adhere to a strict code of conduct and ethics as laid down by BAPO. We will always have the clinical needs of the client as our first priority and will ensure the highest level of clinical care is provided.

We aim to bring the understanding and caring attitude gained by previously working within the NHS into the private sector.

Our Ethos is Embedded in the Following Protocols:

Appointments

We will make every effort to see our clients when it is convenient for them rather than the other way round. We have the flexibility to have early morning, evening appointments or Saturday (by special arrangement) to suit those clients who cannot make an appointment during normal working hours.

Objectivity

Our diagnosis and recommended treatment will be based purely on the clients clinical presentation and an assessment of their individual needs.

Communication

During diagnosis and treatment we will clearly explain what we are doing, why we are doing it and what the different treatment options are. The cost of treatment will be made clear to all clients at their appointment and we will not proceed without approval . You and your referring professional will receive a comprehensive report on your assessment and our recommendations.

Review procedures

We are able to provide a comprehensive review process for all our clients if required. These are recommended for conditions such as; diabetes, Tibialis Posterior syndrome/dysfunction and for complex Orthotic fittings. These review procedures are charged at our standard review appointment fee.

After care

LOC is committed to providing clients with a high quality, problem free aftercare service. If after fitting of your Orthotics you develop any problems these will be rectified free of charge. We are also available to discuss any concerns you may have about any aspect of your treatment.

Onward referral

We fully understand that we may not have the relevant expertise or treatment solution for all clients who present themselves. We have therefore established strong ties with many other healthcare professionals who we can recommend in confidence.
