Our Ethos

The London Orthotic Consultancy (LOC) is committed to providing its patients with the highest possible level of care. All of our clinicians are fully-qualified professionals and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and are members of the British Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (BAPO). We adhere to a strict code of conduct and ethics, as laid down by BAPO. We will always have the clinical needs of our patients as our first priority, and will ensure the highest level of clinical care is provided.

We aim to bring the understanding and caring attitude gained while working within the NHS into the private sector.

Appointments

All appointments, at whichever clinic is most convenient for you, are made by ringing 020 8974 9989

We will make every effort to see our patients when it is convenient for them, rather than the other way round. At our Kingston clinic, we have the flexibility to offer early morning, evening or Saturday appointments (by special arrangement) to suit those clients who cannot make an appointment during normal working hours.

We are much more restricted at our satellite clinics, as we may only be open one day a week, and these clinics are based in somebody else’s establishment. Our administrative staff will be able to help you when you contact us.

 

Objectivity

Our diagnosis and recommended treatment will be based purely on our analysis of each individual’s clinical history and current symptoms. No treatment will be offered if no treatment is required.

 

Onward referral

We fully understand that not all client's symptoms can be solved by the use of orthotics. We have established links with many other healthcare professionals who we feel we can recommend in complete confidence.

 

Communication

During diagnosis and treatment, we will clearly explain what we are doing, why we are doing it and what the different treatment options are. The cost of treatment will be made clear to all patients at their appointment and we will not proceed without your approval. You and your referring professional (if you have one) will receive a clinical report on your assessment and our recommendations.
