About The London Orthotic Consultancy
The London Orthotic Consultancy (LOC) was established in August 2004, by four clinicians who originally worked with the NHS at a London hospital. They ran a successful orthotic department that gained a worldwide reputation as a centre of excellence in the field of rehabilitation.
Our headquarters clinic in Kingston-upon-Thames opened in June 2005. In the decade that has followed, LOC has established itself as one of the leading private orthotic clinics in the UK, providing a full range of treatments across five main areas:
- feet and lower limb orthotics;
- positional plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome);
- chest deformities (pectus carinatum/excavatum);
- posture-related back pain;
- sports injuries.
Our Kingston clinic is also the home of LOC Manufacturing. We now make the majority of the orthoses that we prescribe and fit ourselves; this means we have shorter lead times, enabling us to produce bespoke orthotics within two weeks of original diagnosis and measurement. Our clinicians also oversee the manufacturing process, ensuring better fit and comfort.
In January 2015, LOC opened its Gait Lab at the Kingston clinic. This is the kind of facility that would normally only be found in teaching hospitals and provides LOC with additional diagnostic capabilities to ensure the best outcomes across a wide range of medical conditions.
Since 2005 LOC has opened a number of clinics in England, primarily in the south:
Bristol: Orthotics & Plagiocephaly
Cambridge:Orthotics & Plagiocephaly
Central London (Harley Street): Orthotics & Plagiocephaly
Romford: Orthotics & Plagiocephaly
